Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 27, 2026
Talk Talk is a macOS voice input tool focused on efficiency and privacy. We understand the importance of privacy to you, which is why one of our core design principles is: Your data belongs to you and stays only on your device.
Privacy Core: Talk Talk and its developers do not collect, store, or upload any of your voice audio data or converted text content. All recognition processes are completed locally on your Mac.
1. Data Collection and Processing
- Voice Data: When you use the voice input function, the audio captured by the microphone is only used to trigger the software's voice recognition engine in real-time. Audio is released immediately after processing; it is not saved as a file nor sent to any remote servers.
- Text Content: Converted text is directly entered at your current cursor position. We do not record or analyze your typing habits or text content.
- Professional Lexicon: The custom dictionaries you add manually are stored only in your local App storage directory and are not synced to the cloud.
2. Permission Requests
To implement core functions, we need to request the following permissions:
- Microphone: Used to receive your voice content.
- Accessibility: Used to simulate keyboard input of recognized text into third-party applications you are currently using.
3. Third-Party Services
Talk Talk's core voice recognition function runs entirely locally. Third-party data transmission is only involved when you actively enable specific extended features:
About Google Translate: When you enable the "Translate Text" feature, the software sends the recognized raw text to the Google Translate service through an encrypted channel.
- We only send the content to be translated to Google. Your personal identification information (such as name, unique device identifiers, etc.) will never be sent with the translation request.
- All translation requests use HTTPS (TLS) encryption to ensure that data is not intercepted by third parties during transit to and from Google Translate services.
- The handling of data by third-party service providers is subject to their own terms of service and privacy policies. We strongly recommend that you review the Google Privacy Policy before using this feature.
